I sit here and I read these posts about people running 6 miles and getting ready to run marathons and exercising for an hour or more a day. How do they do it? I hardly find time to get everything that has to be done finished every day, let alone work in enough time to walk for 30 minutes. Where do you find the time? I am a pretty good organizer and my family helps out a lot...but I have a demanding job, I commute an hour and a half back and forth to work every day, I travel a lot, and I play chaffuer for my kids four days a week! ARGHHH...am I the only one who feels guilty about not doing enough exercise? It is hard enough to eat right every single day and then I don't see any change on the scale - at all - and I wonder...is it worth it?
Hey Sonja, Nothing and i mean nothing that truly matters in life is easy! We didn't just arrive here at this stage in life overnight and it will not disappear overnight! We are all a work in progress and we will continue on this journey each and everday. I am 46 and single and have no dependents that demand my time. Therefore i find it a bit easier to find/make time for myself. I have a very demanding job and travel by transit 45 minutes each way. I am very involved in a few charities that take a lot of my time as well, but i am worth the effort. This is for life!! But heck there are a lot of days where i struggle to just get up and do it. I understand that your time is limited and whatever time that you do have is devoted to your family. BUT, PLEASE remember that you have to take care of yourself first, before you can take care of your family. I think that it is absolutely wonderful that as a family you are doing this new healthy lifestyle change together Just take it one day at a time, that is all that you can ask of yourself. KEEP WALKING, add music if you can. Take different routes, take a friend, or family member, talk to each other and really listen and in no time your walk is over! Keep drinking the water and keep counting your daily calories and keep weighing yourself each week. Just one step at a time, it's not easy, but i truly believe that you are worth it! YOU ARE FABULOUS, tell this to yourself each day and remember you are making a difference!! Sandy |
