Entry Day 66: Feeling blue...or is it yellow?
Oct 15 2008 21:39

Feeling a little stuck. Not sure what’s going on. Maybe I need to turn off the Coldplay and Jason Mraz?

I have not lost any weight for a couple of weeks now and I know some people plateau for months but I just need to whine. I go to the gym 5-6 days per week and I hit 1500-1700 calories every day. Why isn’t this happening for me? I guess I should also take my measurements and see if I’ve lost any inches…

Sometimes I think about what people think of me. If you’ve known me within the last 2 years, you’re probably thinking “WOW, Dawn’s lost a lot of weight”, if you met me BEFORE 2 years ago you’re probably thinking “good, Dawn’s finally losing some weight”, but if you just met me you’re probably thinking “look at that cow”. Does that make since?

I ate a sandwich for lunch today – a roast beef club that was lovely. And then tonight I went to my mother's (after I ate 2 grilled chicken breasts and 14 brussel sprouts) and had 1.5 tuna/egg salad sandwiches on white bread. I feel like I just gave up.

Tomorrow at work is our new TeamLeader's Welcome Reception. I'm going to do my damndest to be under 900 calories before it starts.

Here's what I'm wondering...I know "supplements" are really dumb BUT should I take something like hydroxycut just for a 3-4 weeks to break the plateau? Sigh...if I don't lose these 2lbs by October 29th I'm going to talk to my doctor when I get home....

I hope yall had a better day than I did

No to the supplements, but that is just me.

What is your deficit on an average day? Do you have your burn meter set on the right activity level? I am guessing that at sedentary you burn 2500 calories (cause at 200 I burn 2000). If you are then adding in your workouts........you might have too big of a deficit (as crazy as that may sound).

Check on all of that and check how you are measuring your food. Do you have a digital scale? If so, measure out everything to ensure you are getting the right numbers. If not, think about getting one (I love mine).

You need 1000 cal deficit every day for a week to lose 2 pounds.....I know you know that, though.

Also, you are not a fat cow!!! Go ahead and take some measurements so you can compare the next time you feel like this.

I had brussel sprouts, too!!!

Wow, this dieting isn't easy. I just started and really just because I wanted to get healthy. It sounds like you have made leaps and bounds and I'm sure that anyone just meeting you now isn't thinking "look at that cow". If they are they are very shallow. It sounds like you are working very hard to reach your goal. 5 - 6 days at the gym sounds pretty committed to me! Don't let anyone discourage you. Don't let stress get you down! You can do it!! It sounds like you are eating for comfort. I'm not the best to give advice on comfort but I'm sure you just need some good support! Find a good friend to support you (I know that's easier said than done). Good Luck!! My hopes are with you! Dawn

Wow, I was thinking more like, "Wow, she doesn't have that much further to go with her weight loss!"  I am not familiar with the supplement you mentioned.  I would definitely talk to a doc before taking anything like that.  I've been on a plateau for a looooooooong time.  It's going to break soon though.  Keep the faith!  xoxoxo
