It's kind of like the probiotics in yogurt but some swear it's better. I'm just happy to be able to make something at home. The Kefir grains look like little cauliflower florets... kind of like cottage cheese. I rinse them out and put them in a jar with milk today so they could get their enzymes and bacteria growing and then tonight I will put them in with the soy milk stuff. Which by the way was awesome.
The soy milk is less tart then regular milk.
I ordered some water kefir grains over the weekend so I can hopefully make a clear bubbly type of drink.
I've never tried kefir. Hm. Glad the soy milk is good!! I want to try almond milk next....but I worry about the calories from fat in it. Good luck with the clear kefir when you get to it! |
