Entry 178.0 New Low
Oct 07 2008 08:21

So I was on the scale this morning and BAM!!! A new low 178.0! I am 5 pounds away from having a healthy BMI (Something I haven't had in over 10 years). 173 will get me to that 24.9 but I want to go to a 23 BMI (this way I have a little room to play Innocent with the holidays coming up, I will make it a point to behave. January 6th is the projected goal date. I think this puts me around 165 which is only 13 pounds away!!!!

I made a cookie recipes this week from my fellow CC member and doubled up the batch, I made plates for my moms work, dads works, husbands work, daughters school and my work. Everybody loved them, I know Amy will be happy to hear that. Thank you Amy!

Speaking of Amy, my DH (not in a nice way) tried to paint a picture that came out pretty good, that is until he started messing with it. Now it's in the trash. I would have been so happy putting artwork up that he did, but NO...he had to go and play with it over and over and over again.

Florida is only 9 days away (if you don't count today or the day we leave). I can't wait for a vacation. Though the weather has been beautiful here, I want a suntan again. I haven't been able to find a new bathing suit since it is off season so I will wait till I get to Florida to find one. Currently I am in a 12 loose. Going for a 10.

After my journey ends with weight loss and I enter into a new phase, maintenance, I hope this journal gives people (including myself) motivation to succeed in whatever they do. My 10 month goal is to finish this weight loss journey, remain in maintenance forever and quit smoking. I with I never took up the habit. My daughter deserves better than that and I want to live a long and happy life watching her grow.

So, weight loss first, smoking next. Mind over instinct. If I can control food, I can control what I put in my mouth, cigarettes included. That's it for today.

Funny thing with painting or other media it's funny how much of making a good art work is knowing when to stop.  It's really hard to do.  When your looking at your picture and you know it's not perfect. It's ok but, maybe if . . . or . . . and before you know it's too busy, too dark, or that nice orginal form is totally covered up with all the little "improvements" and you can't see the essesense of what you started with?!

Quiting smoking is tough stuff. I smoked when I was WAY too young. When I got in college I was suprised how smoking made an outcast with big groups of nice people so, I thought about quiting but, when I know I wanted to have kids and get married that was the real clintcher.  I really quit for my kids well being but, when I had those urges to smoked I reminded myself of how other people viewed me a yucky. It kind of made me mad/sad/angry but,  for me I knew that if I didn't smoke I wouldn't like my habit either.

I messed up but, kept going back to quiting right after and I was about to go longer and longer without smoking until finally  it went more than a month between a mess up and then I was quit. I used the patch and gained lots of weight but, I know you lose the weight too. Hopefully you won't go so totally out of control as I did. I know I was eating too much but I told my DH to chose fat or smoking. He chose fat so, I gain 46 lbs. now it's gone witn my baby fat too. SO- it can be done. You CAN DO IT! Laughing and I bet you can do it better!

Congratulations on your new low... My husband quit smoking a few years ago with the patch. The difference now he says is he realizes that he can never have that "just one". So many fool themselves thinking they can have just one and they are right back to fighting that demon again. I wish you lots of luck in quitting ... I hope the advice he lent me here for you can help you quit for good. Never fool yourself into thinking you can have just one.  Have a great time in Florida too!

Too bad you missed out on a new boat! Our marina has a high and dry storage building which they just expanded, we keep it there.  Our boat is only insured for it's cost ... these days with the economy, we may be able to get a decent (bigger) boat for that money now!  lol but then again, I wouldn't be able to take it anywhere because we can't afford the fuel!
