Entry Back to normal
Oct 14 2008 08:14

Or as the Rugrats used to say..."Back to Norman."

I was sooooo tired and sleepy yesterday, recovering from our camping trip.  Hubby works for the State, so he got to rest up at home yesterday (Columbus Day).  He did a huge favor for me, though.  A fellow at work gave me a bag of apples from his tree and I wanted to make apple crisp and take it to work.  Hubby sent me to bed early and made it for me.  I set out the recipe for him, walked him through it, and set out the baking dishes.  I think it went okay.  I'll be eating some in a little bit.  But only a small portion.

Tonight, we need to have a budget meeting to determine priorities and amounts for big-ticket items like Christmas, car maintenance, kids' clothes, etc.  I don't anticipate any problems--just the familiar "You mean we can't have it all right now????" realization.

Chance of spotty rain today--the ground is really parched, so we can use it.  If I could, I'd send our rain to the forest fires in California, though.

You guys are having a family budget meeting?  That's cool.  I ended up turning our budget into a presentation to show Josh.  I had to drag him off the couch to look at it!

That was nice of your hubby to help out.

I keep a rough budget in mind for January-November, but for Christmas I type out a spreadsheet of how much to spend per person.  That may sound bad, but it's the only way we can make sure we spend the same amount on g'parents, parents, siblings, etc.

How nice of hubby to make your apple crisp!!  I'm not sure mine knows we own an oven....haha of course he does!  I just don't see him use it that often.
