Entry Baptism Cancelled
Oct 12 2008 09:48

Had to cancel the baptism this morning. Hand and mouth infection is here. We got a notice sent home monday that the twins had been exposed to it at school. And sure enough, today my son has the blisters on his hands. It took forever for the doctor to call back and he said that we could still have the baptism, but my sister-in-law might not want to bring her baby. Well, she is the godparent, so she has to be there, my mom would have had to miss it because she would have had to stay home with the twins since we can't take them to the church, plus, the baby may have it so I wouldn't want the Pastor to catch it and then spread it around to the congregration. So we decided that the responsible thing to do would be to cancel, even at the last miute. We will have to reschedule for another time. All that preparation! At least I can freeze the meatballs. Does boxed cake taste good if it has been frozen and thawed? I made the cake last night but would rather not have it around all week for me to eat.

Wow...bummer lulu.  I haven't heard of hand and mouth disease.  I think maybe it goes by a different name here.  So, you get to enjoy a clean house and it won't be so hard to clean up for the rescheduled day.

Not sure about the box cake.  We've never had a problem with leftover cake.  I think if it was just a birthday cake, I would freeze it. But this is a special day.  Can you give it to someone to take to work then make a fresh one for the baptism?

Freeze the cake!  Even if it doesn't keep well, you can't get to it until you reschedual if its frozen.  Just make sure to thaw it with enough time to remake one if you need to.
