It is a little cooler here in Texas and that slight fall tinge is in the air these past few nights. I love it. I can't wait until the first real cold snap below 32, to get rid of these giant size skeeters that IKE brought us when he blew in. Hubby and I got busy today and he vacuumed and washed all three of our vehicles and I detailed them with armorall. that was a job, but felt like we had accomplished something after we were done. we are going to sell our beloved cobra, I hate to see her go,but well life changes and priorities change so we must move on. we are paying ins. on a car we rarely ever drive so it is for the best. Getting used to the changes that life throws at us is not always easy. It is the ones that adapt to the ever changing parade that we call life that have the easiest time. I am trying to learn. There is what we had in mind our life should be, then there is the reality. the two don't always mesh. I believe everyone has coping mechanisms, for some maybe it is a familiar blanket or a favorite pillow. For some of us it is food. Or for some of us in may be a combination of several things. change is hard I am learning that too, espcecially when you get over 40 and I am assured by others from there changing gets harder and harder. The stress of these economic times can drive us all into a nervous tizz. we have to be willing to adapt and do what we have to do to make it in this world. hopefully we can all stay strong and weather these uncertain times with the determination that we are going to get healthier so that is one last thing we have to worry about in the future.
How true. The latest financial issues and politics may be what is causing me some eating problems. I had thought about that but it could be. I've been doing a lot of checking on my IRA's and such. |
Yes lucy I have been doing alot of checking too. the one thing we did smart was not to get back into the stock market with my husbands 401k after 2002. we got out after 9-11 then back in and then 3 or 4 big drops in 2 weeks. got out and stayed out. could have lost as much80,000 during this time. scary. even so we have lost 30% or better in smaller IRA's mine has lost 10,000 and his 8,000 . gosh that makes me irky. I know that I have time in mine to make it up in 24 yrs, but he is getting ready to retire son. The good Lord was looking after us that we didn't have our main retirement at risk and lost right only a year before he needs it. ugh. we got a guy by here today that wants the cobra. we are selling it for about blue book, but is collector item, so usually brings substanciallymore. we don't have to sell, but ins. is ridiculous and well, right now we figure we better do it. people think things are going to get better, but realisiticly it is going to get alot harder before it gets better. my weight is not moving right now, but have been getting a little more walking in. got to go do that right now............. later |
The economy's cooling off from a hot period of heavy borrowing. Learn to make it despite strict access to credit cards and loans.
