Entry New week, and new goals
Oct 13 2008 11:16

Well, there aren't new goals, but I do plan on having 5 stellar days in a row here. This morning I took my friend to the airport so now life is back to normal. This weekend staying downtown was loads of fun, except for the fact that I also spent loads of money and ate loads of food. We went shopping and ate out like every single meal. On Saturday in particular, we splurged and went to a dessert place where I even had a fancy coffee drink loaded with whipped cream. Then we ate dinner and then went to a fancy happy hour at 9 pm, and ate some more! Ridiculous. To top it all off, we went out for Ethiopian food last night and I ate a massive amount of food, scooping up lamb and veggies and lentils with that fun spongy bread.

Now I am on a serious food AND financial budget for the rest of the month. I also attempted to go shopping, but couldn't find a sweater dress which is what I really really wanted (that's Manda's fault for always mentioning how wonderful her sweater dress is). I tried on lots of sweater dresses but the right one remained out of my grasp apparently.

Yesterday was the trail pace and it was so much fun! I came in 2nd place for my age class (18-39) and won a prize and everything. The course was a challenge too, it had us going all kinds of places, over obstacles, cantering through forests, crossing swales, it was very fun and absolutely gorgeous weather.

Now I am feeling a bit bloated from all the eating I did this weekend. I need to ingest some serious water today, and I pretty much have to make it to the gym this evening. I'm going to go through the trouble of planning out all my exercise so I make sure to get it in this week. I also have to go grocery shopping this evening unfortunately because there isn't much available in the ol' fridge.

Here's today's plan:

Special k red berries and soy: 380

yoplait light yogurt: 100

lean cuisine grilled chicken fiesta: 250

1.5 cups potato leek soup: 200

hardboiled egg: 70

apple: 75

whole wheat penne with roasted veggies and parm: 450

water, water, and more water! to wash away the weekend's indulgences!

Total: 1525

Exercise

Barn chores

1 hour cardio/ST class at gym

I am guzzling my water right now too...

I am sure your weekend indulgence was well worth it.  How often do old friends come to stay and visit, right? The Ethopian fare probably didn't do you any harm. And be happy - lentils are very good or you!

Your day at the barn sounds terrific.  What a great way to challenge both you and Smoke.  Fun!

Good luck eventually finding a sweater dress.  I would be afraid of looking like a stuffed sausage, lol.

Congrats to you and Smoke on your 2nd place finish!!!!

I love, love, love Ethiopian food....and there are two Ethiopian restaurants on my street!

Sorry to have started you on a sweater dress quest....but it will be worth it when you find the perfect one!

Now I am going to take a cue from you, and go drink some more water.
