My weekend adventure began when the bf and I decided to take his truck out to Mt. Rubidoux in Riverside County about 45 mins from where we live. We were going to just explore the area. Invited the kids but they didn't want to go. Too bad their loss.
We walked up this winding hill that stretched for 3 miles one way to the top where elves are purported to exist. When we reached the top we saw the friendship bridge, the peace tower, and a huge cross amidst a stone ampitheater where Easter sunrise services are held each year. It was really beautiful and the weather was right. However, we both discovered my fear of heights and thankfully did not run into elves.
Climbing up this hill, there is no protective handrail on the edge that drops down along its side. So, I was practically hugging the wall for dear life as we made our way up. Long story short I made it up and down the hill with shaky legs, queasy stomach and crazy nerves. Bf had so much fun he said we're going back. Oh boy.
Good workout though. My thighs felt sore from the climb but we burned up the calories from lunch and I fought through my fear. Yes, we will go back.
you are way more adventerous than me. sounds like it was fun and the views must have been breathtaking. glad you had an awesome weekend. |
