Entry Starting over....again
Oct 14 2008 08:51

Today I had a wake-up call.....Today is October 14th....1 day before my mom's 45th birthday...and that means that I have 3 months, and 16 days untill my 20th birthday. I do not want to enter into my 20's overweight. I was overweight in my teens...I will not be over weight in my 20's.

I did the math...which really simplified things for me

I can reach my goal by my birthday.

I am currently at 168 lbs.

My goal is 145 lbs.

168 - 145 = 23 lbs

if I lose 1.5 lbs per week it will take me...

23 / 1.5 = 15 weeks to get to my goal weight. I have 16 weeks untill my birthday.

In order to reach my goal I will need a daily deficit of 750 calories.

3300 + 1750 = 5250

5550 / 7 = 750 calories.

Daily Calorie Target.... 1452 calories.

Daily Burn Meter 2200

2200 - 1452 = 748

Including exercise...

Kettlebells .... 45 minutes... 463 calories burned so... 2200 + 463 = 2663

2663 - 1452 = 1211

On days that I do Kettlebells, I will eat an additional 211 calories to get me to a 1000 calorie deficit.

By adding 3-4 days of 1000 calorie deficits, I will reach my goal sooner, possibly 3-4 weeks sooner.

Treadmill.....

I normally use the Random hill option when I am walking on the treadmill and it alternates inclines of 1.5 up to 8.1 and I go for 30 minutes.

Last night I went on for 26 minutes...I started to get a blister, so I stopped early...I burned 143 calories...

So lets say that I burn 150 calories per 30 minutes I am on the treadmill

So.... 150 + 2200 = 2350

2350- 1452 = 898

Round that up to 900 calories and I can reach my goal even sooner...possibly 1.5 weeks sooner.

Getting to my goal weight of 145 lbs by my birthday is very attainable now that I have broken it down and I understand what I need to do.

The main thing I need to work on is portion sizes...I need to be very careful and measure things out carefully so I am not over eating.

Hey, you can do it! Thats a great plan. If you want some support you can check out (or join) the Unwrap the fat 20+ pounds by Christmas challenge! Sometimes it helps to have a group to report to, and also a time frame to do it in. Good luck!

Hey, if you get a digital scale (cheap ones: $20) you will ensure that you are not overeating.

Anyway, good luck....great goal!!! You will do it and be (even more) stunning for your b-day!!!!
