I'm usually on an ellyptical when I do my cardio, when I'm on the ellyptical I go on Intervals for 30 mins. Part one of my interval is a resistance of I think 12 and my Strides per minute is usally between 180-190 going forward. Part two of my interval is a resistance of 4 and my strides per minute is usally between 200-218+ going backwards. I feel Safer and more comfortable on the elyptical because my knee brace holds me back.
So, I went to the gym yesterday and I forgot to bring my knee brace so I told myself I'll take it easy. But my body wanted to run... so i ran at an incline of 4.5 and a speed of 6.0 for 7.5 mins and powerwalked at an incline of 5.5 and a speed of 3.5 for another 7.5 and then cooled down for 5 mins. It felt greatm kinda scary though! Great Accomplishemnt for myself I think!
If anybody reads this, the reason why I'm excited for running is because I haven't actually ran after my second surgery which was back in June. Actually I never really ran eversince my first knee surgery. So that's why I'm so excited.
The reason why I got knee surgery the first time is because I tore my meniscus and had to get ACL reconstruction because of a soccer accident. The second surgery i had was a flipped meniscus because of playing soccer again, i thought my leg was good to go but i guess not. The first surgery was poopy because I really couldn't walk properly for 3 weeks + and I had to go to Physiotherapy and stuff. Second time I was up and walking within three days and back to work in 3 weeks.
