Well, I had a good nights rest! AMEN!!! My blood sugars were a little high this morning at that time. 131 but that allowed me to get dressed and go to the hospital to get blood drawn for my 3 month check. When I got home my blood sugar was 100 and that is after a lifesaver. I was feeling a little low so that must have boosted it up some.
Anyone who wants to come over can have my baked cod. I have 4 lbs of it!!! I wish we were the Jetsons and I could cyber it to you. This cod takes just like Long John Silvers or Captain D's without the frying. My new weight is 268.2 with clothes on!
I have been watching the news and I am frightened that things are only going to get a lot worse for the next 5 years! They are already saying we are in a recession and like the depression years. And President Bush, agrees! - But feels we will get out of this. The world markets are crashing and they rely heavily on us. The British Government is buying stock in banks and that is their way of bailing them out. Tell me why didn't we do this?
And the presidential debates, I am sorry I missed it. But I fell asleep at 8:00 and woke up at 1052 so I just got the tail end of the commentaries. Then I watched the news at 11PM and got some more highlights. And of course, I am not getting enough of this I have been watching the news all morning. Then I decided to check in with my dear friends here. So now I am off to read journals and then finish cleaning up what I already started this morning in the kitchen.
Take care and God Bless.
Hi, I'm having a terrible time getting around the new site but I found you. I watch half the debate and went to bed. It's in my home town and they closed roads and had big block parties. The debate was a rehash of all the stuff they said before nothing new. McClain carries Tn. anyways. I lost my voice so I hope my students read hand signals really good today. Thake care, hugs. If you get a change read the message David Letter wrote and don't be depressed be thankful for everything we have in our country. I 'll try and post it in my journal. Tori. |
Hi, heavenly, I think sometimes we lose site of our history. The US has been through several recessions. Those of us 40+ remember the one in the 70s. There was a really bad one in the 1890s. The two world wars were followed by recessions. It is true that whatever goes up, must come down. And whenever the economy goes down, it comes back up again. When Theodore Roosevelt was president, the banks nearly collapsed and the big banks' officers added THEIR money to the economy to bail it out. Now there is an idea. Don't be anxious about the economy. The world would have us believe that desperate times are ahead, but God is still God and is faithful to His promises. |
Mama is right, these things all happen in cycles, the debate was very boring so you didnt miss much =) and im a poli sci major I love debates !! and political stuff =) Here in Canada we are having thanksgiving and voting in a election next week, busy week i guess. Can you send me some Cod ? Id like to not have to cook tonioght =) ~K |
Me too. I'd like some Cod. I am having trouble being scared about the recession. In my imagination, the absolute worst case is Josh and I moving in with my mother in law and eating super cheap food like pancakes and bean soup. That sounds pretty happy to me, plus things would have to get really drastic for a really long time before we would have to do that.

If I could eat cod, I would have you cyber me some, too! Glad you are better today and got some rest. I don't think I've ever watched a debate in my life! I guess I didn't miss much, either. :) |
I love cod! Thanks for sharing it. With all that is going on I am like the idea that families will have to realize the basics again. We need our families to get back together, sit down to eat meals with each other. Talk to each other. My daughters tell me about friends of theirs that think it is great to eat dinner at our house because it is home cooked, we all eat together and talk. Most of their friends did not grow up that way. Those of us that are used to caring for our families in a down to earth manner will not be hit as hard as those who take care of there families by throwing money out the window. |
I have to agree with ismile, I think there is a lot of truth to her note to you today. But I am finding it difficult to not panic, too. Glad your blood sugar was so great today! Enjoy that cod - sounds lovely :) |
