cup butter |
| 1/2 |
cup shortening |
| 2 |
cups sugar |
| 6 |
large eggs |
| 3 |
cups all-purpose flour |
| 1/2 |
teaspoon baking powder |
| 1/4 |
cup milk |
| 1 |
teaspoon vanilla extract |
| 8 |
oz crushed pineapple, undrained |
| 3/4 |
cup powder sugar, sifted |
| 2 |
tablespoons butter, softened |
| 2 |
teaspoons milk |
Directions
- Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer about 2 minutes or until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed 5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until yellow disappears.
- Combine flour and baking powder, add to butter mixture alternately with milk, begining and ending with four mixture. Mix at low speed after each addition just until blended. Stir in vanilla and pineapple.
- Pour batter into a well-greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 to 15 minutes; remove from pan and let cool on wire rack. Drizzle with glaze.
- Combine the last three ingredients for glaze.
