Blackberry Scones Recipe

Makes 15 servings


Alton Brown's scones, revamped

Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup blackberries
4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp shortening
Directions
  1. Combine dry ingredients

  2. Combine cream, buttermilk and egg seperately

  3. Cut butter and shortening into dry goods

  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients

  5. Add chopped blackberries

  6. Spoon into 15 portions and bake at 375
