An Hungarian dish
| 1/2 | kg ground turkey |
| 2 | large onions, diced |
| 2 | tbsp Oil (for cooking) |
| 1 | tbsp margarine |
| 1 | cups rice, dry |
| 400 | g sauerkraut |
| 1 | dash salt (optional) |
- Cook the rice normally.
- In another pot fry one of the onions until golden.
- Add the ground meat and fry til the color changes.
- Add salt (if desired), then transfer the contents of the pot to a baking dish.
- In the pot you've just been using, fry the second onion until golden.
- Add the sauerkraut together with the liquid from the cans and a little oil, and cook until browned.
- In a Pyrex dish, sprayed with cooking oil, place alternately: A layer of sauerkraut, then the meat, then the rice, in that order, ending with sauerkraut.
- Place a few cubes of margarine between the layers.
- Bake in a 180 C oven for 1-1 1/2 hours. Serve hot.
