Rakot Kapostah - 3 Layers Recipe

An Hungarian dish

Ingredients
1/2 kg ground turkey
2 large onions, diced
2 tbsp Oil (for cooking)
1 tbsp margarine
1 cups rice, dry
400 g sauerkraut
1 dash salt (optional)
Directions
  1. Cook the rice normally.

  2. In another pot fry one of the onions until golden.

  3. Add the ground meat and fry til the color changes.

  4. Add salt (if desired), then transfer the contents of the pot to a baking dish.

  5. In the pot you've just been using, fry the second onion until golden.

  6. Add the sauerkraut together with the liquid from the cans and a little oil, and cook until browned.

  7. In a Pyrex dish, sprayed with cooking oil, place alternately: A layer of sauerkraut, then the meat, then the rice, in that order, ending with sauerkraut.

  8. Place a few cubes of margarine between the layers.

  9. Bake in a 180 C oven for 1-1 1/2 hours. Serve hot.
