Black Bean Burgers Recipe

These burgers make an excellent vegan meat substitute for BBQs, or can be served for breakfast with scrambled eggs on top.

Ingredients
1 tablespoon onion, diced
2 cups black beans
1 slice (32g) white bread, crumbled
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup mushrooms, minced
Directions
  1. Mash black beans with a fork, until beans resemble mashed potatoes. Mix black beans, onion, bread, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil and mushrooms.

  2. Form into patties approximately ½ inch thick and fry in 1 tbsp olive oil.
