Original recipe from Southern Living called for adding a pecan half on top of each cookie - which would have brought the calories for each tiny cookie up a lot higher. Calorie count is for one 13g cookie*. (*average size of the ones I made, some were 14g some were 12g) Also, calorie-count.com only had regular sweetened condensed milk on the list and I used low-fat so the totals will be a bit lower.
| 14 | ounce low fat sweetened condensed milk |
| 2 | cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips |
| 1/4 | cup butter |
| 1 | cup all-purpose flour |
| 1/2 | cup chopped pecans |
| 1 | teaspoon vanilla extract |
- In a saucepan over medium melt together sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips and butter, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and mix in flour and vanilla until combined. Add pecans pieces.
- Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 7 minutes. If using an insulated baking sheet they may require an additional 3-4 minutes cooking time. Note: When they're done they will still be sizzling on the cookie sheet.
