I used healthy choice tomato sauce (instead of the regular stuff)and also, the ground turkey I used was extra lean!
| 3/4 | lb lean ground beef |
| 1/2 | lb ground turkey |
| 3/4 | cup chopped mushrooms |
| 3/4 | cup chopped onion |
| 1/2 | cup chopped celery |
| 1/3 | cup chopped green pepper |
| 3/4 | cup mild salsa |
| 1 | tsp chopped garlic |
| 1 | tsp chili powder |
| 1 | serving Diana smokehouse sauce |
| 1 | dash oregano |
| 1 | dash cumin |
| 13 | oz no salt added tomato sauce |
| 1 | cup red kidney beans |
| 2 | cups water |
| 8 | oz tomato sauce |
- Turn your slowcooker (crock pot) on high.
- Chop up mushrooms, onion, celery and green pepper (and garlic if you don't have prechopped already).
- Brown beef and turkey in a frying pan.
- Put meat, seasonings, veggies, water and sauces in the slowcooker, leave for a 3 hours.
- Add kidney beans, stir, leave for one more hour.
