| 1 1/2 | c split peas |
| 16 | c water |
| 3 | stalk celery |
| 6 | carrots |
| 1/2 | lb yams (about 2 sweet potatos) |
| 1/8 | t pepper |
| 2 | t salt |
| 2 | t chicken bouillon |
| 2 | clove garlic (minced) |
- boil split peas in water for 1 hour, using an hand blender blend until split peas are broken up.
- Dice vegetables and add to soup with seasonings.
- Cook another hour until vegetables are soft.
