These cookies have old-fashioned goodness of oatmeal and peanut butter. No fat except what might be in the peanut butter. Drop by teaspoon to limit size of each cookie.
| 3 | egg whites |
| 1 | cup brown sugar |
| 1 | cup peanut butter, reduced fat |
| 1/2 | cup applesauce, unsweetened |
| 1/4 | cup honey |
| 2 | teaspoons vanilla extract |
| 3 | cups old fashioned oats |
| 3/4 | cup whole wheat flour |
| 1/4 | cup wheat germ |
| 1 | cup dry milk, nonfat |
| 2 | teaspoons baking soda |
- In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites and brown sugar. Beat in peanut butter, applesauce, honey and vanilla. In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, powdered milk and baking soda; gradually add to peanut butter mixture, beating until combined.
- Drop by teaspoon 2 in. apart onto baking sheets covered with parchment paper (or coated with non-stick spray).
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. Move to wire racks to cool.
