Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cherry Scones

Makes 28 servings

substitute sweetened dried cherries for raisins, cranberries, or blueberries.

Ingredients
3 cups white flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
4 cups oatmeal
2 cups butter
1 1/2 cup raisins, sweetened dried cranberries, or cherries
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
Directions
  1. Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl

  2. Add butter chopped in small pieces

  3. Mix until blended

  4. Add butter milk

  5. With floured hands make 4 large disk about 1" thick

  6. Refridgerate for 2 hours or more

  7. Cut into small wedges, brush with sour cream and sprinkle large sugar grains.

  8. Bake 25 minutes 325 or until brown
