This is the ONLY fruit pie I eat warm or cold. Make sure the pears are ripe. The shell is 9 inch unbaked.

Ingredients

pears |
| 1/3 |
cup sugar |
| 1 |
tbsp cornstarch |
| 1/8 |
tsp salt |
| 1 |
pastry shell |
| 1/2 |
cup cheddar cheese |
| 1/2 |
cup flour |
| 1/4 |
cup margarine |
| 1/4 |
cup sugar |
| 1/4 |
tsp salt |
Directions
- Peel & thinly slice the pears.
- Shred cheese & melt margarine.
- In a bowl, combine pears, sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- Pour into pastry shell.
- Combine topping ingredients (everything listed after the crust) until crumbly; sprinkle over filling.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 25-35 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is melted. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Serve warm.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
