| 400 | g chick peas |
| 3 | tablespoons lemon juice |
| 3 | tablespoons tahini |
| 12 | g garlic |
| 4 1/2 | g salt |
- Soak one cup dried chick peas (garbonzo beans) in four-five cups water overnight (12 hours) then boil for two-and-a-half hours in salted water; or
- Use canned chick peas (garbonzo beans) rinsed.
- Put the cooled peas into a food processor with all the other ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth-ish.
- Taste and season with more lemon juice and salt to taste.
- You can add sundried tomatos, extra garlic, herbs, olives, pesto, peppers, anything you like for a yummy dip or spread.
- Refrigerate in an airtight container and it will keep for some time.
