Cocunut-Pecan Filling & Frosting Recipe

comes from the Baker's German chocolate box

Ingredients
1 can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
7 oz coconut flakes
1 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
Directions
  1. mix milk, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla in large saucepan. cook on medium heat 12 minutes or until thickened and golden brown, stirring constantly. remove from heat

  2. add coconut and pecans; mix well. cool to room temperature and of desired consistency.

  3. makes 4 1/2 cups
