Very favorite recipe of my family. I always have to make 6 times this recipe to feed my brood.
| 1/4 | cup butter, salted |
| 1/3 | cup all-purpose flour |
| 1 3/4 | cup milk |
| 1 | cup chicken broth |
| 1 | cup light meat chicken, cooked |
| 1 | cup dark meat chicken, cooked |
| 4 | ounce mushrooms, drained |
| 1/2 | teaspoon salt |
| 1/4 | teaspoon pepper |
- Melt butter in a large sauce pan, or dutch oven if making a lot. Stir in flour and cook till smooth an bubbly.
- Add milk and chicken broth all at once and stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Add meat, mushrooms, salt and pepper and heat through.
- Serve over toast or biscuits.
