Pasta Sauce with Ground Turkey Recipe

Simple Lo-Calorie Pasta Sauce w/Turkey

Ingredients
1 ounce ground turkey
3 ounce tomato sauce
1/8 teaspoon basil
1 ounce onion
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
  1. Brown the turkey in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, depending upon the servings you want to make. Discard the fat for leaner sauce, less calories.

  2. Use peeled crushed tomatoes from Italy if you can get them(San Marzano). They have lower acidic content.

  3. Sprinkle the salt and basil in the tomatoes, and place in a sauce pan over medium heat. Cut up the onion and place that with the browned turkey.

  4. Then, as the sauce starts to get hot, add the meat and onion. Simmer for 20 minutes to an hour until all the flavors blend together. Serve over your favorite pasta.
