Old Fashioned Vegetable Soup - Slow Cooked

Makes 12 servings

Updated Old Fashioned Soup recipe, for slow cooked.

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs Beef, Loin, Bottom Sirloin Butt, Tri-tip Roast cubed
1/3 cup flour
1 Salt
1 pepper
2 tbsp canola oil
8 cups water
1 cup beef broth, low sodium (102617)
1 tsp Bay leaves
2 stalks celery
1 lb carrots
2 cups diced onions
6 tomatoes, chopped
2 cups potatoes, cubed and pared
1 tsp salt, seasoned
1 tsp hot sauce
Directions
  1. Optional: parsnips, cabbage (1/4/ head)

  2. Coat beef stew cubes in flour (seasoned with salt and pepper). Brown meat in 2 T canola oil in heavy skillet.

  3. Put all ingredients in slow cooker and cook until vegetables are done.

  4. Correct seasoning to taste.
