Kat's Homemade Bread Crumbs Recipe

Submitted by katstar

Makes 1 serving

i used left over bread crumbs i had for the 150 grams of bread crumbs and i always use natures own double fiber bread that i've frozen as i didn't use it before it was time for a fresh loaf.

Ingredients
59 slices bread
150 grams bread crumbs
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
Directions
  1. dry bread in oven at 200 degrees for an hour. some may have to do this in shifts if your oven isn't big enough.

  2. turn bread over and repeat.

  3. turn off oven and let it sit in the oven overnight to completely dry out.

  4. next day, put 4 slices in a baggie and break them up with your fingers

  5. put the broken up bread in the mixer and pulse till the crumbs start flying to the top(make sure lid is on tight) and then put on highest speed till all crumbs. this could take around 30 seconds.

  6. empty into a sifter to get out the big pieces.

  7. return big pieces to blender and repeat till done.

  8. do the same with the extra bread crumbs if you have them.

  9. next, put in all seasonings. i also add mrs dash seasonings but i don't measure these, just put in what you like.

  10. shake up in a big baggie and freeze for when you need it. it's a much healthier bread crumb then most you can buy. when you need some, just weigh out how ever much you need and put the rest in the freezer again. enjoy
