You can make this recipe vegan by substituting soy milk for the regular milk.

Ingredients

cup all purpose flour |
| 1/2 |
cup whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 |
cup rolled oats |
| 2 |
tsp baking powder |
| 1/4 |
tsp salt |
| 1/2 |
tsp cinnamon |
| 1/2 |
tsp allspice |
| 1/4 |
tsp nutmeg |
| 1 |
cup skim milk |
| 1 |
cup applesauce |
| 1 |
tsp vanilla |
Directions
- Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and stir together. Add in milk, apple sauce and vanilla and stir until just smooth.
- Preheat waffle iron, grease well with cooking spray (even if it's nonstick) and cook waffles according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Serve immediately, with plenty of syrup.
