Warm homemade syrup and a tasty slice of french toast! Still working on a lower calorie version!

Ingredients
For the syrup: |
| 10 |
tbsp light brown sugar |
| 1 1/2 |
cups water |
| 1 |
dash of cinnamon |
For the French toast: |
| 1 |
slice whole-wheat bread |
| 1 |
egg |
| 1/2 |
cup skim milk |
| 1 |
cinnamon to taste |
| 1 |
dash of vanilla extract |
Directions
- In a pan, heat water and brown sugar until it bubbles.
- While the syrup is heating, wisk 1 egg in a shallow bowl, then add milk. Add vanilla extract and cinnamon to your liking.
- Once the syrup is heated, add a dash of cinnamon to it, and pour the liquid into a cup or small bowl.
- Douse the wheat bread in the egg mixture by dipping it into the bowl, or pouring it on either side of the bread on a plate.
- Cook the french toast to your liking. When it is finished, add the amount of syrup you like and voila! A homemade breakfast treat.
