Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Recipe stolen from the back of the JIF peanut butter jar!

Ingredients
3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, packed
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
  1. Heat oven to 375.

  2. Combine peanut butter, shortening, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well incorporated.

  3. Add egg. Mix just until blended.

  4. Combine flour, soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Add to peanut butter mixture at low speed, just until blended.

  5. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto a baking sheet.

  6. Flatten slightly with a fork in a criss-cross pattern.

  7. Bake for 7-8 minutes.

  8. Cool on a wire rack.
