basic chili recipe (1 serving equals about 2 cups)

Ingredients

lb ground beef |
| 2 |
onions |
| 1 |
green pepper |
| 4 |
tbsp chili powder |
| 2 |
tsp garlic |
| 2 |
tsp cumin |
| 2 |
tsp red pepper flakes, crushed |
| 2 1/2 |
cups tin kidney beans, rinsed (1 19 oz. tin) |
| 7 |
cups canned tomatoes (2 28 oz. tins) |
Directions
- brown ground beef and remove the fat
- add onions and peppers and stir until softened a bit
- Add spices and tomatoes including juice
- rinse beans and add to the pot
- cook over low heat for about an hour to combine flavours
