German Cabbage Soup Recipe

My mother's Cabbage soup with tofu or fake meat instead of real. It's a sweet tomato based soup. A serving size is 2 cups, more than enough for me!

Ingredients
4/5 head Cabbage
1 large onion
12 fl oz tomato paste
250 g Vegetable bouillon , or enough cubes for 2 cups
1 1/3 cup Smart ground
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Salt and pepper
Directions
  1. Add cabbage, onion, celery, tomato sauce, vegetable broth and water to the top of the cabbage(so the cabbage will cook all the way).

  2. Cook untill vegetables are tender, about an hour.

  3. Combine tofu with ketchup, brown sugar, and salt and pepper.

  4. Add the mixture to the pot.

  5. cook for about 10 more min. and done!
