Another Israeli Salad

Submitted by ronit

Makes 1 serving

Use the thick stems of the lettuce for this and save the leafy green part for regular salads. For seasoning, I like a mixture called Schwarma (a middle-eastern cayenne pepper and cardamon mixture) but a chili blend or BBQ blend would work just as well or even dill and dried mustard.

Ingredients
1 cup lettuce, chopped
1 cup cucumber, seed pulp removed and diced
1/2 sweet red pepper, diced
1/4 cup corn
1 cup carrot, diced
1/4 cup bean sprouts
80 g Tuna
2 tbs mozzarella, low fat
1 tsp soy sauce
1 dash cayenne pepper
1 dash mace
1 dash cardamom
Directions
  1. Dice the vegetables as fine as you'd like, to complement in size the corn and bean sprouts. Minimally they should all be bite sized.

  2. Combine into a large bowl with the soy sauce. Add tuna then cottage cheese on top. At this point you can sprinkle on any spice mixture you might like to give it a little more flavor.

  3. Enjoy
