Whole Grain Onion Focaccia Recipe

Ingredients
1 pkg active dry yeast
1 tsp honey, or maple syrup
1 1/2 cup water, 105 - 115 F, divided
3 1/2 cup wheat flour, whole grain
2 1/2 tsp salt, divided
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
3 lbs Spanish onions, cut in 1/8ths and thickly sliced
Directions
  1. In a large bowl, mix 1/2 cup water with honey. Sprinkle with yeast and let stand 5 minutes, until foamy.
