Tania's White Rice Recipe

Makes 8 servings


My recipe for white rice.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups white rice
1 tbsp canola oil
1 tsp margarine
1 tbsp chopped onions
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 tsp salt
Directions
  1. Soak rice in hot water for 20-40 minutes. Drain water and rinse rice.

  2. Heat oil and margarine in pot over medium heat. Add onion and saute until fragrant. Add rice and saute rice for about 3-5 minutes until rice is entirely coated with oil.

  3. Add broth, water, and salt and reduce heat to low. Cover pot and simmer for approx. 10-15 minutes until all liquid is absorbed by rice.

  4. Turn off heat and serve.
