My recipe for white rice.
| 1 1/2 | cups white rice |
| 1 | tbsp canola oil |
| 1 | tsp margarine |
| 1 | tbsp chopped onions |
| 1 | cup water |
| 1 1/2 | cups chicken broth |
| 1 | tsp salt |
- Soak rice in hot water for 20-40 minutes. Drain water and rinse rice.
- Heat oil and margarine in pot over medium heat. Add onion and saute until fragrant. Add rice and saute rice for about 3-5 minutes until rice is entirely coated with oil.
- Add broth, water, and salt and reduce heat to low. Cover pot and simmer for approx. 10-15 minutes until all liquid is absorbed by rice.
- Turn off heat and serve.
