Quick Macrobiotic recipe for easy Fu. The same recipe may be used for Seitan, except separate dough into four sections and simmer in six cups soy sauce seasoned water for an hour. (Keep to a very low simmer to avoid large dough expansion)
| 120 | g Vital Wheat Gluten |
| 2 | tsp Soy Sauce |
| 3/4 | cup Water |
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F)
- Combine all dry ingredients. You can add ginger and garlic powder to add some flavor if desired.
- Mix the soy sauce and water and slowly add it to dry mixture kneading very gently.
- Knead dough for five minutes, stretching the dough out as you go.
- Lightly oil an 8 X 8 inch glass baking dish and spread dough out into pan as evenly as possible.
- Bake for 25 minutes. The dough will rise considerably.
- Let rest out of oven until dough collapses flat. Cut and serve warm with tahini and jam, or eat plain.
