I've also used pinto beans and it tastes great either way. This is just a basic recipe. Experiment by adding spices o topping with lettuce, tomato.....etc
| 1/2 | cups kidney beans, mashed |
| 1 | tbsp bread crumbs |
| 1 | tbsp ketchup |
| 1 | tsp mustard |
| 1 | pita or bun |
- Mash beans with either a fork or potato masher
- Stir beans, bread crumbs, ketchup, mustard and spices together.
- Heat skillet to medium and spray with Pam or similar product.
- Form mixture into patty and fry on both sides to golden brown.
- Place in pita and top with favorite toppings!
