Chocolate Pudding Recipe

Makes 5 servings


Prepare on stovetop or in microwavesugar cocoa powder or 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, cornstarch salt low-fat milk imitation vanilla extract cvt

Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder (19171) or 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups lowfat milk (1082)
1 1/2 tsp imitation vanilla extract (2051)
Directions
  1. In saucepan, mix sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt. Gradually blend in milk (and cut-up chocolate squares, if used). Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till mixture thickens. Cook 2-3 minutes more. Add vanilla. Chill.

  2. Microwave instructions: Heat milk on HI for 3 minutes. Add dry mixture. Heat on HI for 2-4 more minutes, stirring every minute, until full bubbling boil is reached. Add vanilla. Chill.
