Orange Bread Pudding Recipe

Makes 4 servings


bread cubes milk, orange juice grated orange peel egg yolks sugar salt cvt

Ingredients
1 1/2 slices whole-wheat bread, enough for 1 cup cubes
3/4 cup milk, scalded (tiny bubbles around edge of pan when heated)
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tbsp grated orange rind
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Soak bread cubes in milk ten minutes.

  3. Add the orange juice and peel, yolks, sugar and salt. Stir until sugar has dissolved.

  4. Pour into 4 buttered individual molds. Dot with butter and place in a pan of hot water.

  5. Bake 30 minutes or until knife inserted one inch from edge comes out clean. Chill. Unmold and serve.
