Breakfast that is YUMMY and LASTS.
Naturally vegan without evey trying!
|
Ingredients
| 1 |
cup soymilk, unsweetened |
| 1/4 |
cup steel cut oats |
| 1/8 |
cup flax seeds |
| 1 |
tbsp brown sugar |
| 1 |
tbsp cinnamon |
| 1 |
tbsp powdered ginger |
| 1 |
tsp ground nutmeg |
| 1 |
tbsp sugar (Trader Joe's Vanilla Paste) |
Directions
- Put soymilk in small saucepan on high. (Trader Joe's Brand or Wildwood are the best - please don't use the big nationally-known brand that starts with S, they are owned by a giant corporation who is trying to weaken organic standards!)
- Start adding ingredients. Please note that the last ingredient is Trader Joe's Vanilla Paste, not actually sugar. I put it in as sugar since the paste is largely sugar, and I figured it's better to over-state the case than under-state it with an ingredient like sugar.
- When it boils, turn down to 1/10th (low) and time for 10 or 15 minutes.
- Keep adding stuff until everything's in there, simmer til done.
- Devour. You may think it's a lot of calories, but it lasts a long time. Yes, there is sugar, but it makes it yummy enough to make you want to eat it and not have margarine, nuts, cream, or other worse things that I, for one, usually want to add to oatmeal.
