Spicy Split Pea Soup Recipe

Makes 13 servings


a spicy, healthy, vegetarian soup!!

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups split peas
1 teaspoon oil (chilli oil actually!!)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 medium onion, diced
8 1/2 cups water
Directions
  1. in a large pot sautee onions and garlic in the chilli oil

  2. add water and split peas

  3. let simmer for approx 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure peas don't stick to the bottom of the pot!!

  4. strain peas...or not! its up to you, good either way...
