Berries and Custard Sauce Recipe

Makes 4 servings


lightened version of custard

Ingredients
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups fat-free milk
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups fresh blackberries,(such as raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and/or halved strawberries)
Directions
  1. combine sugar cornstarch salt milk in saucepan stirring over medium heat slowly add egg yolks add vanilla once mixture is starting to thicken

  2. divide fresh berries among 4 bowls

  3. let sauce cool slightly then pour mixture over berries

  4. let each chill for a couple of hours

  5. enjoy
