From "Manna From Heaven"
| 1 1/2 | c whole wheat flour |
| 1 1/2 | c sharp cheddar cheese, shredded |
| 1/2 | tsp salt |
| 1/2 | tsp paprika |
| 1/2 | c butter |
| 15 | oz red salmon, canned |
| 3 | eggs, beaten |
| 1 | c sour cream |
| 1/2 | c mayonnaise |
| 1 | tbsp onion, grated |
| 1/8 | tsp hot sauce |
| 1/4 | tsp dill weed |
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- To make crust:
- Combine flour, 1 cup cheese, salt, and paprika in food processor.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- (Optional: Add 1/3 c. almonds)
- Save 1 cup crumb mixture for topping.
- Press remaining mixture into 9-inch pie plate.
- To make Salmon mixture:
- Drain, remove bones, and flake salmon, reserving liquid.
- Add to salmon: reserved liquid, eggs, sour cream, cheese, mayonnaise, and seasonings (3 drops of hot pepper sauce is sufficient).
- Mix thoroughly.
- Turn into pie plate lined with crust.
- Sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
- Bake 45 minutes.
