Pumpkin Cookies

Mom's recipe

Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup pumpkin
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup dates
1/2 cup walnuts
1 cup powdered sugar
Directions
  1. Mix shortening and sugar

  2. add egg

  3. add pumpkin

  4. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cloves, salt

  5. Chop walnuts and dates

  6. Add to mixture

  7. add vanilla

  8. Bake 12-15 minutes

  9. Dust with powdered sugar
