| 7 | cups tart cooking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced |
| 1/4 | cup water |
| 1/2 | cup (or less) sugar |
- Combine apples and water in 3-quart glass bowl. Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap.
- Microwave on HIGH for 8 to 11 minutes or until apples are tender and can be chopped into small pieces with a spoon.
- Stir in sugar.
- Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more.
- Stir and serve warm or cold as chunky sauce, or strain through food mill or colander.
- (Optional: sprinkle with cinnamon.)
