Honey Wheat Bread

Makes 30 servings

the honey wheat bread we make

Ingredients
1/4 oz rapid rise yeast
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 cup water
8 oz 2% evaporated milk
1 cup water
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon salt
15 oz whole wheat flour
10 oz bread flour
Directions
  1. Dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon honey in 1/2 cup of warm water.

  2. Combine milk, 1 (or 3/4 cup) water, honey, salt and wheat flour in bowl.

  3. Mix in yeast mixture.

  4. Add white flour, and knead dough for ~10 minutes.

  5. Place dough in bowl, allow to rise until double in size.

  6. Once doubled in size, punch down and knead dough for 5 minutes. Form into loaves.

  7. Allow to double in size (1-2 hours), until bread is higher than the sides of the pan.

  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees, with a small pan of water.

  9. Butter crusts while warm.
