Excellent alternative recipe for those poor souls who are lactose intolerant (allergic to dairy). Personally, I think these taste better than regular brownies! You can substitute the chocolate syrup with low-fat or fat-free choc. syrup and substitute the flour with wheat flour.
| 1 1/4 | cups (295 ml) sugar OR splenda |
| 1/4 | tsp (3 ml) salt |
| 1/2 | tsp (6 ml) baking powder |
| 1 1/3 | cups (315 ml) whole wheat flour OR reg. flour |
| 3/4 | cup (177 g) baking cocoa OR dark chocolate baking cocoa |
| 1 | cup (235 ml) coconut oil |
| 1/4 | cup (60 ml) chocolate syrup OR dark choc. syrup |
| 2 | large eggs |
| 1 | tbsp (15 ml) water |
| 1 | tbsp (15 ml) vanilla extract |
| 1 | tsp cinnamon |
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9" baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- Mix together all the ingredients in a medium or large mixing bowl, whichever you prefer. The batter may be slightly lumpy and the color may not be distributed evenly, but that's ok.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until you can stick a toothpick in the pan and have it come out clean.
