Wholewheat French Toast Recipe

Submitted by srocker

Makes 1 serving

Very low cholesterol French Toast

Ingredients
90 g wholewheat bread
3 egg whites
1/4 g cinnamon
4 ml vanilla extract
1 apple
Directions
  1. Mix the egg whites, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a bowl (beat it well enough to mix, but don't turn it into a meringue as it won't soak into the bread well)

  2. Push the sliced bread into the "batter" to ensure it soaks through.

  3. Fry on a medium heat for about 5 mins or until golden, turning ocasionally.

  4. Serve with your favorite fruit (I find a cold crunchy apple compiments the soft, warm bread)

  5. If you invest in the best quality non-stick frying pan you can afford, you won't need any oil or fat
