Tasty Indian bread. Adapted from a recipe for Naan on www.indianfoodforever.com .
| 1 | cup pastry flour |
| 2 | cups whole wheat flour |
| 1 | tsp baking powder |
| 1/2 | tsp salt |
| 1 | tbsp sugar |
| 1 | cup water |
| 1 | large egg |
| 2 | tbsp oil |
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Mix in wet ingredients. Kneed dough until elastic. Dough should not be sticky or pasty. Add more water or flour to alter consistency.
- Allow dough to rest 10 minutes. Turn on oven to 450 degrees.
- Roll into a rope and cut into 8 pieces. Form balls. Flatten each ball to about 1/2 cm thick.
- Place naan on pan and bake until browned and bubbles darken. Serve immediately.
